Job Overview:

Our client a leading technology/ telecommunications company is seeking a skilled Data Cabler/Network Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network cabling and devices, including routers, switches, and access points. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, test, and maintain network cabling, including both fiber optic and copper cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

- Install, configure, and test network devices, such as routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.

- Perform site surveys to assess network cabling and device installation requirements.

- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues to ensure optimal performance.

- Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and other team members to plan and execute network installation projects.

- Document network installations, configurations, and maintenance activities accurately.

- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.

- Provide on-site support and guidance to clients, helping them understand their network setup and functionality.

- Stay updated on the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Proven experience as a Data Cabler/Network Technician or similar role in installing and configuring network devices.

- Strong knowledge of network cabling systems (fiber optic and copper) and network devices (routers, switches, access points).

- Familiarity with networking protocols, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting tools.

- Ability to read and interpret network schematics and technical drawings.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, ACMA Open Registration) are highly desirable.

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites as required. White card is favourable
