Purpose and objectives 

The Director of Fundraising spearheads marketing and sales activities with a not-for-profit perspective. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding the donor base, securing corporate partnerships, and promoting their mission to a wider audience. By leveraging expertise in sales and marketing, the incumbent will contribute to the financial sustainability and growth of the organisation, enabling further impact within the community.

The ideal candidate for this role possesses innate leadership qualities, excelling in guiding and inspiring others, particularly within the realms of marketing, sales, and fundraising. You will bring extensive expertise in corporate programs, product management and event planning. Acting as a proficient relationship manager, and effortlessly forge connections that resonate with the organisation’s purpose and mission. Additionally, you boast a proven track record in securing new sales and acquisitions, adeptly expanding their donor base and cultivating meaningful partnerships.
 
Role Responsibilities
  • Establishes commercial partnerships with the organisation to reinforce their industry leadership while enhancing awareness of their critical services in health, education, and disability sectors, driving philanthropic and corporate support
  • Attainment of budgeted and planned targets across all fundraising and development streams
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to execute Board and SLT strategic priorities, aligning with their fundraising and development goals in the 5-year plan.
  • Manage data and reporting, tracking fundraising metrics for staff and management, and budget reporting for programs
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including government bodies, to advocate for funding and support
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Communications to promote fundraising initiatives, ensuring seamless integration across all departments within the organisation
  • Lead, motivate, and empower the fundraising team, fostering professional development and support to cultivate a positive work environment
 
Profile
  • Tertiary qualified in a related field such as Business or Marketing
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar or related role
  • Extensive expertise in managing teams in a complex, service-delivery organisation
  • Demonstrates robust leadership skills and a proven ability to influence others, with extensive connections in both commercial and philanthropic networks
  • Holds a solid understanding of not-for-profit organizations within the disability sector, combined with strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Familiarity with updated child protection policies and legislation
  • Demonstrates adept stakeholder management skills, proficient in influencing individuals across all organizational levels
 
 
Remuneration 

Remuneration commensurate with experience and responsibilities, 100% not for profit salary packaging.
