Client Details
The business has a 40 year reputation in manufacturing and delivering superior decorative products, architraves and skirting boards into the largest homebuilders in Australia. With a range of 1000 products both manufactured in house and imported from Asia the business is focused on design excellence and creating spectacular interiors.
Description
Reporting directly to the General Manager the Head of Operations will be based at the Picton HQ and will be responsible for the workforce of 60 staff (25 in production) and the performance of the supply chain as a whole as the business transitions towards a more wholesale focused model. Specifically you will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective operation of the “factory” by ensuring that planning, purchasing, production and distribution are managed effectively whilst being responsible for end to end supply chain and distribution into customers sites. You will lead:
Manufacturing; Via the Production Manager Control the site in terms of people, performance, safety and devising and implementing a Continuous Improvement culture in the factory of 20 skilled staff. You will drive process improvements and up skilling of operators.
Supply Chain & Logistics; Manage finished goods and material flow into and through the site, negotiating with suppliers for products & materials at predominantly Asian Sources and managing their performance accordingly
Warehousing and Outbound Transport; Control all receiving and outbound warehousing and the small (and growing) l in house fleet of 4 trucks based out of their new Warehouse delivering products nationally.
Profile
You are a hands on Operations & Supply Chain Manager with strategic vision and the ability to take the operation to the next level as they embark on an aggressive growth period. Your experience will ideally have seen you work within manufacturing and understand factory operations whilst also having had responsibility for a complex Supply Chain (end to end covering import, sourcing and onward distribution). Ideally you will have either worked within a building products environment or a wholesale product business (ideally both).
