Job description
This is a fantastic newly created position working for a rapidly growing family run business. You will work closely with Business Process Experts to ensure data quality, compliance, and adherence to operating procedures related to Master Data management.
The Master Data Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining different areas of master data for the Material Master. You will monitor and analyse master data, key data, and master relationship data within the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure master data integrity in key systems and maintain processes to support data quality.
- Identify areas for data quality improvements and resolve data quality problems.
- Develop and document processes with other functional data owners.
- Resolve data quality issues through error detection, correction, process control, and improvement strategies.
- Manage, analyse, and resolve data issues to meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to data standards.
- Align master data rules with business requirements.
- Create and implement data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication.
- Conduct data cleaning to remove old, unused, or duplicate data.
- Drive best practice data management across the business.
Background and Experience:
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in Master Data Management/Maintenance.
- Experience in Manufacturing/Construction or similar industry would be highly regarded.
- Attention to detail and ability to provide quality data output.
- Ability to translate complex functional situations to various audiences.
- High efficiency and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of data analysis/validation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in ERP systems, NetSuite experience highly regarded but not essential.
