FutureYou is delighted to partner with Lifeline for the recruitment of an Organisational Design Specialist on a six-month basis.

With a national footprint, Lifeline leads the charge in driving innovation for the betterment of the community through the establishment of national suicide prevention services. 

Lifeline is currently seeking a highly skilled Organisational Design Specialist, who will be responsible for reviewing and assessing the current structure and capabilities of the Text and Chat function.

This short-term, six-month position is critical to ensuring that the department’s framework is fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives.

The OD Specialist will evaluate the current organisational framework, recommend a new structure that meets the department’s evolving needs, and identify key development and capability gaps to facilitate a smooth transition to the redesigned model.


Description 

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of the current structure, identifying strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement. Assess roles, responsibilities, and workforce capabilities within the Text and Chat function to determine alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop a detailed proposal for a revised organisational structure. This includes defining key roles, reporting lines, responsibilities, and identifying areas where workforce capabilities need enhancement. Ensure that the structure is adaptable, scalable, and future-proofed to meet the growing demands of the Text and Chat services.
  • Act as a key member of the broader project team and collaborate closely with other team members to ensure that the new structure integrates seamlessly with recommendations related to operational excellence, service delivery improvements, and technology updates.
  • Identify development and capability gaps within the current workforce. Create an upskilling plan that ensures staff are equipped with the necessary competencies to thrive in the new structure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads, team leaders, and HR, to gather insights, secure support for proposed changes, and ensure that organisational adjustments align with stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and HR to develop and implement change management strategies that ensure a smooth transition to the new structure. Focus on clear communication and staff engagement to support adoption and success.


Profile

To be successful in this application, you will have values that align with the sector and a deep specialisam in organisational design.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Design, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in organisational design or organisational development.
  • Experience in reviewing and developing organisational structures in dynamic environments.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and processes.
  • Familiarity with the mental health sector and not-for-profit organisations is desirable.
  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to break down complex organisational structures and processes, assess current capabilities, and develop practical solutions that address identified gaps.
  • Strategic Thinking: Expertise in aligning organisational design with both short-term operational needs and long-term strategic goals.
  • Change Management: Proven expertise in guiding and managing change processes within an organisation, ensuring smooth transitions while supporting staff and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build strong relationships and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project Management: Ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and gain buy-in from internal and external parties at all levels of the organisation.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate new structures, processes, and the rationale behind them.
